Better Your Beekeeping

Next date: Sunday, 13 October 2019 | 01:00 PM to 03:30 PM

This intermediate beekeepers’ talk is aimed primarily at those already involved in beekeeping, keeping and managing colonies of their own.

This informative talk will focus on annual management of bee colonies, and includes spring activities such as swarm control, spring manipulations, building colony numbers, queen monitoring and assessment for health to maximise honey production. Honey harvesting methods will also be covered.

Practical content will cover the opening of bee colonies for inspection and manipulation.

There will be plenty of theory and discussion, as well as a delicious House of Honey afternoon tea.

Tickets are $85 per person. Participants are required to provide their own PPE gear (bee veil, overalls, gloves and appropriate footwear) to accommodate the practical content.
